Ensemble Theatre (Full-time study) < backMA

This programme is centred on the creation of a postgraduate ensemble company. All theatre is collaboration between performers, directors, writers, dramaturgs, scenographers, technical creators, managers and producers. In the true ensemble company this collaborative ethos results in something imaginative, dynamic and original. The new MA in Ensemble Theatre has this ethos at its heart. Teaching from all across the College will contribute to the training.

Over the 13 months of your study, you will explore the meaning of ensemble theatre practice through a series of productions of classical and contemporary work, develop your existing skills in your specialist theatre discipline and form a theatre company that will produce work for audiences both within the College, at other sites in London and at venues across the UK on tour.

The theoretical and practical research into your theatrical specialism will contribute to the company’s shared aesthetic understanding of making theatre in this collaborative cauldron and prepare you for professional work within the field or for moving on to further research at MPhil or PhD level.
