International Foundation Programme

International Foundation Programme < back to programmes

The primary aim of the programme is to offer international students a comprehensive introduction to the study and practice of theatre and performing arts. It also provides a thorough preparation for further study of the performing arts in the UK. Working alongside other students – particularly those on the first year of the BA (Hons) European Theatre Arts programme – you will be exposed to a wide range of concepts and ideas relating to European theatre practice. Your command of the English Language will improve through working with UK students and you will begin to build up a vocabulary of theatre terminology, and your interpersonal skills will be enhanced through our emphasis on collaborative work. You will also be encouraged to develop skills in the analysis and comparative study of dramatic text and theatre performance.

Students who successfully complete this programme may go on to study on the second year of the BA (Hons) European Theatre Arts programme.
