Part-time Theatre Arts

Part-time Theatre Arts (PTTA) < back to programmes

This programme offers an intensive introductory programme to the skills and techniques of acting. It is tailored to those wanting to learn the craft of acting, develop their physical, vocal and imaginative skills, and explore the dramatic text for performance. The programme is ideal if you wish to pursue acting as a potential profession, or have some experience and want to hone your skills and prepare for auditions. It is also suited to those with a keen, general interest in theatre.

The one-year programme comprises three terms, each lasting for 13 weeks. New intakes are in September, January and April. You will attend Rose Bruford College one evening a week from 7.00pm–9.30pm, and are expected to watch all PTTA productions at the end of each term. Classes are taught by experienced, professional tutors with visits from outside directors and specialist practitioners. If you show a strong aptitude for acting and prove that you are punctual, dedicated and ambitious, you may be invited to return for a fourth term. This invitation is extended only at the discretion of the Programme Supervisor and is by no means an automatic progression from Term 3.

A Certificate of attendance is awarded on satisfactory completion of the programme.
