This is the only full degree programme in the UK for those who wish to study theatre and performance by distance learning, and there is no comparable programme by distance learning elsewhere in the world. Designed for those who wish to develop their professional knowledge or seek a qualification, as well as those who wish to study for pleasure, the programme is ideal for anyone interested in studying at their own pace and earning a qualification alongside their work and family commitments.
Analysing plays, performances, practice and practitioners, the programme sets out to enrich students’ understanding and appreciation of all aspects of theatre and production. The programme investigates a comprehensive range of topics in their cultural and historical contexts and introduces students to contemporary critical perspectives. A team of expert tutors and a suite of specially designed distance learning materials enable students to develop skills in critical writing, researching and articulating their growing understanding of theatre.
