Our long-established BA (Hons) Theatre Studies programme is delivered by online Distance Learning (click here for example) and provides an ideal way to study for your degree from wherever you are in the world. Our current cohort comprises a truly global community of theatre enthusiasts, teachers, theatre professionals and school-leavers who all enjoy the benefits of being able to balance their studies alongside their work and family commitments. Rose Bruford College offers the only full degree programme in the UK for those who wish to study theatre and performance by distance learning and there is no comparable online course elsewhere in the world.
The degree is taught via our on-line campus and is intended for anyone wanting to develop a thorough knowledge of the arts and practices of theatre and performance in their widest contexts and from early beginnings to modern performance. In creating this programme we aim to be flexible by offering a range of areas for study around a central core of key topics and a range of awards from certificate to full honours degree.
If you already have an HND in performing arts, vocational training in theatre/performance, achieved academic credits in parallel subjects or worked professionally, you might be eligible for credit exemption for accredited prior and/or experiential learning (AP(e)L). Contact us to find out more.

Our Distance Learning programmes attract a wide range of students of all ages and levels of experience. For this reason, we consider applications from students without standard entry qualifications. All cases are judges on their own merits and recognition is given to relevant key skills and vocational qualifications as well as aptitude and enthusiasm for learning.
How to Apply
Applicants will be asked to complete a short written task and participate in an interview which will be conducted by telephone. If you are subsequently offered a place for the next academic year the Programme Director will contact you for an informal discussion about your aspirations and expectations and your choice of modules for the first year.
