An International Community

In addition to receiving students from around the world, the College provides international educational experiences for many of its own students. Our programmes are enriched by a commitment to multicultural, cross-cultural and intercultural practices. Leading international practitioners such as Robert Lepage and Eugenio Barba, amongst many others, have visited the College and have provided students with an original view of performance and theatre making in relation to contrasting cultures.

As a Rose Bruford student, you can take part in an international exchange programme at one of our highly regarded partner institutions around the world. A period of study in another country is an important component of several of our programmes and provides you with outstanding preparation for your professional life.

The two most obvious examples are the BA (Hons) European Theatre Arts, where students can spend up to a semester in a European country, and the BA (Hons) American Theatre Arts, the second year of which part of the programme can be spent in the USA. Also, undergraduate students on programmes in the School of Design, Management and Technical Arts and some Postgraduate students may be able to undertake a placement at professional repertory companies in the USA. Our overseas partners and companies are chosen with the utmost care and members of our teaching staff visit these institutions regularly to ensure that your experience is of the highest standard.
