A Christmas Carol

On Saturday 12th December 2009 7:30 pm at Long Eaton's Trent College, the Friends of Derby Salvation Army will present a production of Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol".
 
A unique occasion in that this is only the second time in the history of the brass band movement that a local Salvation Army band has appeared on stage with a mainstream brass band In addition, the event will be a first live stage production featuring brass bands and the spoken word.
A new script and unique to FoDSA although, of course, based on Dickens immortal tale.
 
Traditional festive music including old favourites and more contemporary pieces such as "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "When a Child is Born" and the Cliff Richard favourite, "Mistletoe and Wine".
 
Those attending this concert will enjoy a truly memorable evening and radio listeners will soon be able to enjoy a foretaste of the delightful voice characterisations of Bill Varnam and his novel script.
 
Bill Varnam trained as an Actor at the Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Perfromance and graduated in 1985
 
His work has included one man shows, story telling, performance poetry, children's entertainment, television and radio.
 
Bill also operates as a singer/songwriter and has recently recorded a CD. As a performer, he particularly enjoys working with children and considers himself a Family Entertainer.
