College students win through to final of Keen Angels Competition

Following the formation of their multimedia film and editing company 'Abandon Hope', final year acting students, Greg Baldock, Josh Alward and Jesse Velik decided to enter the Keen Angels Competition organised by The Knowledge East Enterprise Network.

To their surprise they have been selected as one of the six finalists, having beaten thousands of entries from universities across London.

The final on 30th June at the Arsenal Emirates Stadium will be hosted by Richard Farleigh (BBC Dragons' Den Investor) and will give the student entrepreneurs a chance to pitch their businesses live to a panel of Angel Investors for the opportunity to gain financial investment.

'Abandon Hope' is a multimedia filming and editing company, with two main areas of work. One is making original creative material, (such as independant short and feature films and television projects) and the other is focused on supporting artistic institutions like drama schools in creating exciting and dynamic corporate videos, showreels and other marketing applications. The Company have recently completed their first short film, The Coin, which has already recieved positive feedback. They also have several corporate projects in the pipeline at Rose Bruford College and elsewhere.

"It’s fantastic news. It’s a great opportunity for three graduates trying to pave their way in the industry and create their own work. We're sure we'll learn a lot from the experience". - Jesse Velik, Greg Baldock and Josh Alward - Abandon Hope.
