Laurence Senelick elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences

It is with great pleasure that we share the news that Laurence Senelick has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Founded in 1780, the Academy is an independent policy research centre that conducts multidisciplinary studies of complex and emerging problems; the Academy's elected members are leaders in the academic disciplines, the arts, business, and public affairs. Others elected to AAAS this year include Francis Ford Coppola, Suzanne Farrell, John Lithgow, Liev Schrieber, and Denzel Washington.

Professor Senelick, of Tufts University, has received ASTR's Barnard Hewitt Award and Distinguished Scholar Award. He is the author or editor of more than twenty-five books, and has just published an anthology in the Library of America series: The American Stage: Writing on the Theater from Washington Irving to Tony Kushner.
