New adapatation of 'The Fall of the House of Usher'

A collaboration between Rose Bruford College and The Watermill Theatre, as part of a year- long research and development project, has led to a new adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher as a new actor musician piece. Director, Paul Hart, who has been the Associate Director  at the Donmar Warehouse and a graduate of Rose Bruford will be directing a professional cast that includes Simon Scardifield (RSC, Propeller, Blind Summit), Thomas Padden (Globe, Propeller, Northern Stage) and Frances McNamee (Shared Experience), and students from the Actor Musician programme who will be the chorus. The new score is composed by an exciting young composer, Tarek Merchant, who is also an ex Rose Bruford student, who previously worked for the Watermill in Sunset Boulevard and has recently composed work for BBC Radio 4.

There will be a rehearsal reading, at The Watermill Theatre on Friday 23rd July at 4.30, please contact Matthew Dewsbury for further information at conveniencematthew@watermill.org.uk.
