Rose Bruford College is delighted to launch ‘Amesy’ a new way of contacting the College through the inimitable admissions officer David Ames, aka ‘Amesy’. He has been Admissions Officer since 2004 and Box Office Manager since 2008 at the College. “From today we are launching a new Facebook and Twitter identity, for you. Yes, YOU (and other people). The idea of ‘Amesy’ is to get you involved in all things RBC. Under Amesy’s expert guidance (ahem) you will be able to interact with each other, alumni, and potential/incoming students. Ask questions. Answer questions. Maybe form some important industry relationships. Get your problems sorted. Help others with their problems. Basically it’s kind of like an open forum for anyone involved with RBC, past present or future.”Amesy aka David Ames Facebook (http://facebook.com/amesyrbc) and Twitter (http://twitter.com/amesyrbc) profiles have been set up for the new viral sensation. ‘Amesy’ was inspired by a film made by recent graduates, Rob Plumbly and Nick Amatt called ‘DAVID AMES: SAVIOUR OF THE UNIVERSE’ (http://youtu.be/_mbKlNlpUKc). The animated adventure is Amesy’s first film outing and includes a cameo by Professor Michael Earley, Principal of the College and also many references to the local area and characters. At the heart of the project is the desire to make the drama school application and audition process less daunting and more accessible to prospective students. People thinking about studying at a drama school will be able to ask ‘Amesy’ questions and link with a range of alumni and students who are engaging with ‘Amesy’. The College has always striven to create a friendly, welcoming and collaborative atmosphere for students. This positive reaction is often noticed on Twitter and Facebook after College open days and interviews. “We will also be running various incredibly exciting competitions with incredibly exciting prizes, the first of which is accompanying the launch of the Facebook page: Where’s Amesy? If you spot me somewhere (and I am very aware of the many dangers this could involve for all parties) you can take a picture and post it and for your troubles you will win – wait for it – A ROSE BRUFORD COLLEGE WRISTBAND!”Amesy aka David Ames
