College Student wins at Inter Spinal Games

Second year student, Andrew Risk recently took part in the 23rd Inter Spinal games at Stoke Mandeville during 19th - 24th April.  The event which was funded by the Wheelpower Charity and held at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium was attended by 13 teams from across the UK and featured a wide variety of sports including: Wheelchair Rugby, Shooting, Table Tennis, Fencing, Archery, Athletics, Hand cycling, Hockey, Sledge and Badminton.  Andrew's team were the recipients of the Team Shield at the Games.

Andrew said "It was the first time I had even attempted many of these sports so I was surprised and pleased I did so well.  After playing bowls for the first time the day before the final, I came third and came first in the 25metres backstroke, having only practised for three weeks.  But it was the shooting event I enjoyed the most and got a score of 4 out of 5 in practice.
