Yael is a theatre director and dramaturg and has been a lecturer and visiting practitioner at leading Drama and Art schools for 15 years. She has worked extensively with actors, writers, theatre makers, film makers, movement practitioners, designers and performance artists in training – specialising in collaborative practice and creative exchange across art forms and on collaborative approaches to writing and creating live performance.
She often works with artists who draw on their own lived experience in their work and has worked extensively with writer performers and with theatre companies who devise and author work collaboratively.
Yael is passionate about flattening hierarchical structures in theatre collaboration and in the deep value of curating opportunities for artists across art forms to connect, exchange ideas and explore their practice outside the pressures of production.
Yael trained at National Theatre Studio and Young Vic and is a recipient of the Jerwood Directors Award and finalist of the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust award.
