When is the ceremony?
The ceremony will take place at the College in The Rose Theatre on Friday 20 September 2019 in two ceremonies:
Ceremony One at 12 noon
School of Design, Management and Technical Arts and Postgraduate
Costume Production, Creative Lighting Control, Lighting Design, Performance Sound, Scenic Arts, Stage Management, Theatre Design, MA Actor Performer Training, MA/MFA Collaborative Theatre Making and PGCLTHE.
Ceremony Two at 2.30pm
School of Performance
Acting, Actor Musicianship, American Theatre Arts, European Theatre Arts, Opera Studies and Theatre Studies.
A rehearsal will be held for both ceremonies. These will be at 10.45am for the first ceremony and 1.30pm for the second ceremony.
The Ceremony will last approximately one hour and thirty minutes. You will sit in your own specifically allocated seat with the other graduands.
On the day of the Ceremony there will be ushers and marshals on duty to ensure you are in the right seat and to ensure you know exactly what to do.

Registering & Tickets
How do I register to attend the Ceremony?
If you wish to attend the Ceremony, please complete the online graduation form by Friday 28 June 2019, even if you intend to graduate in absentia. Failure to do this may result in you being unable to attend the award ceremony.
Make sure the address shown on the form is the one where we either contact you or the one to which you wish your certificate to be sent if you choose to graduate in absentia (this applies to students who cannot attend due to important work commitments).

- You can order a maximum of 2 guests tickets for the Rose Theatre at a cost of £20.00 each.
- The charge of £20.00 entitles guests to a non-specified seat at the ceremony, a commemorative programme and a glass of prosecco/non-alcoholic option.
- No tickets will be sent out, please print and bring the email from the online store and collect your tickets from the box office in reception on arrival.

- Guests must be seated at least fifteen minutes prior to the ceremony time.
- No admittance permitted after the Ceremony has commenced.
Your two guests will be allocated tickets entitling them to sit elsewhere in the theatre. Ticketholders for the video link will be shown into the studio.
Can I bring more than two guests?
Unfortunately due to capacity other guests are unable to attend the ceremony in the Rose Theatre, however the ceremony will be screened live for free in two of our Studios.
Ordering Your Academic Dress
A graduation fee is not charged, however you will have to hire or purchase academic robes in order to attend the ceremony. You must reserve and pay for your academic robes in advance directly with the hire company by clicking on the link below.
You will have the option to select a Rose Bruford College or University of Manchester robe, depending on which degree you are being awarded.
Ede & Ravenscroft will be available on the day of the ceremony to assist you.
The Rose Cafe Bar will be open on the day selling light snacks and sandwiches. Alternatively, guests may wish to bring picnics to enjoy in the grounds after the ceremony.
There is very limited parking at the college. If possible, guests are strongly advised to use public transport.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
Graduands are advised to wear lightweight, dark clothes under their academic robes. The gown is quite long (and warm!), reaching to 30cm above the ground. An academic hood is worn over the top of the gown. This has a small loop on the front, which allows it to be attached to a shirt button to hold it in place. The hood can also be held in place by pins, which will be available in the Robing Room. Mortar Boards can be secured with hair grips if necessary.
Do I have to pay for my degree certificate?
There is no charge for your official Rose Bruford College or University of Manchester or degree certificate.
Do I have to pay for my photographs?
Official photographers will be available on the day from Ede & Ravenscroft. A price list will be available should you wish to purchase the photos.
Where can my guests stay?
There are a wide range of hotels in the area. Below are a selection:
