About
Welcome to this site-specific performance inspired by the beautiful Lesnes Abbey ruins.
Lesnes Abbey was founded in 1178 and closed in 1525. The Abbey, now in ruins, has been classified as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and is Grade II listed. The site is now managed and maintained by Bexley Council.
For this piece, students in their final year at Rose Bruford College’s European Theatre Arts BA (Hons) have taken inspiration from the Lesnes Abbey ruins to create new work.
Marking 500 years since the dissolution of the abbey, please join us for a site-specific performance that will take you on a journey through time — “Where past suppers leave their trace: crumbs falling from the table, echoes lingering in the ruins”.
This performance is supported by London Borough of Bexley’s #CelebratingBexley
Performances will take place at 1pm and 3pm on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 June 2025.
