About
BA American Theatre Arts’ Barn Season 2026 explores the forces that shape our lives – friendship, identity, power, and the ties that bind us. Bold, urgent, and inventive, these plays reflect the voices, passions, and contradictions of contemporary life.
Love and Information by Caryl Churchill
Directed by Katherine McGerr
Someone sneezes. Someone can’t get a signal.
Someone won’t answer the door. Someone puts an elephant on the stairs.
Across these fragments, strangers brush past one another, trying to connect in a world flooded with data yet starved of understanding.
With 52 scenes, seven sections, and over 100 characters, Caryl Churchill’s Love and Information is a fast-moving kaleidoscope of contemporary life. Brief, vivid encounters – by turns funny, poignant, and unsettling – explore how we seek meaning in what we know, what we feel, and what we share.
Sharp, tender, and exhilarating, Love and Information asks how we communicate, how we love, and what it means to be human in contemporary Britain.
This is an amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
