About
New Work Season comprises original plays, a song cycle, and an intermedial piece written, directed, and performed by 3rd Year students from our undergraduate Acting and Actor Musicianship programmes.
Under the guidance of BAFTA Award-Winning Writer Janys Chambers and Olivier Award-Winning Composer Darren Clark, the year group have been introduced to the creative energies and disciplines of playwriting and dramatic songwriting, leading to a selection of short plays and a playlist of original songs.
TRIPLE BILL #1 – TENDER + BOYS AT THE BACK + HOW TO DO-OVER
TENDER, by Ellis Elijah
A fast-paced drama turned psychological thriller set in one of London’s top restaurants. Where do you draw the line in the pursuit of perfection?
BOYS AT THE BACK, by Tara Korda Kolar
Two boys meeting, always on the back of the bus, always on New Year’s Eve. Watch them grow from little shits to slightly bigger shits. Or are they?
HOW TO DO-OVER, by Shannon Cockle
Maggie decides she wants to change her life for the better (a ‘do-over’) after she wakes up hungover in a Lidl carpark one morning, with no memory of how she got there. A warm and witty comedy about all the messiness, faith, and grief involved in change, as we wait for Maggie’s mum to finally answer her phone.
