Furious! The Ballad of ’72.

A New Musical Play by Steven Dykes and Callum Patrick Hughes

American Theatre Arts (BA Hons) in collaboration with the School of Design, Management and Technical Arts presents:

Set in the era famously dubbed “The Gilded Age” by Mark Twain, Furious! follows the 1872 Presidential Campaign of Victoria Woodhull as she and the extraordinary women in her life navigate the sensational scandals, intrigues and events of this momentous year in American history.

Featuring a cast of thirteen, a feast of original songs and the exciting integration of digital projection with traditional scenic arts, the show conjures up a Vaudevillian world of Medicine Shows, Yellow Journalism and not-so-secret affairs.

“Society will have its Ghastly Meal of Curiosity!” The New York Herald, 1872.
