Another Strong Performance in the National Student Survey

An above-average proportion of final-year students at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance expressed overall satisfaction with their courses in 2015. Nationwide, 86% of eligible students agreed with the statement that 'Overall I am satisfied with the quality of the course'. At Rose Bruford College, the equivalent figure was 89%, meaning that the College is once again rated as one of the top drama schools in the country for student satisfaction.

The Malcolm Morrison Award for Classical Verse Speaking 2015 took place on 24 June in the College’s Rose Theatre. This award has been created in memory of Professor Malcolm Morrison, an alumnus and former member of staff who sadly passed away in 2013. Donations from Malcolm’s family and friends have made this award possible.

 Rose Bruford College once again hosted the national lighting competition  'Ready, Steady, Light' in partnership with The Society of Light and Lighting (SLL). This year, 14 teams competed against each other by designing and setting up temporary exterior installations with a range of equipment, in only 180 minutes.

Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance has scored 90% in overall Student Satisfaction, the highest score among all UK drama schools taking part in the annual National Student Survey. The College scored high in all categories including an exceptional 91% in teaching.

Obituary: Manfred Wekwerth 1929 - 2014

Manfred Wekwerth, Honorary Fellow of Rose Bruford College, died on the 16th July 2014.  The College offers its deepest sympathies to his friends and family, especially his wife and companion in life and work, Renate Richter.

Obituary: Patsy Byrne 1933 - 2014

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Patsy Byrne, Rose Bruford Alumni, who has died aged 80. Patsy was a Rose Bruford College student from 1951 to 1954 and subsequently a governor. Our records show that she was taught by Rose Bruford herself.
