Over one hundred industry guests attended the private viewing of the 2017 Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance Graduate Exhibition ‘Beginners’ Call’ at Ugly Duck in Tanner Street, London on Thursday 15 June 2017.
The exhibition included work by over seventy graduating students from the School of Design Management and Theatre Arts (DMTA), including; Costume Production, Creative Lighting Control, Lighting Design, Performance Sound, Scenic Arts, Theatre Design and Stage Management.
The guests included world renowned theatre maker Ultz, the Vault Festival’s Andy George and Bryan Raven, Managing Director of main sponsors White Light, who was impressed with calibre of work on display;
“We were delighted to be involved with this year’s Rose Bruford Graduate Exhibition. Speaking to the students and seeing their work first-hand, it is clear that they have the passion, drive and, most vitally, talent to succeed in this industry. It was a privilege to attend the industry viewing and I am sure we will be seeing a lot more from the graduates in the near future”.
Nick Hunt, Rose Bruford College Head of School for Design, Management & Technical Arts said;
“"We had a great turnout from all sectors of the industry, and it was wonderful to be reminded of the high regard our graduates are held in. Several students were offered work there and then on the night, and many more made connections that will be invaluable to them in the future.
None of this would have been possible without our generous sponsors, White Light, Orbital, tsl and 2B Heard and we are hugely grateful for their support. This event epitomises the close relationship we have with the industry, as we prepare the next generation of professionals.”
In addition to the Graduate Exhibition, DMTA students collaborated with BA (Hons) Acting, BA (Hons) Actor Musicianship and MA Ensemble Theatre students to present the college’s ‘New Writing Season’ of plays in association with Tonic Theatre, Chaskis Theatre, Action to the Word and Told By An Idiot.
