Lighting Design level 5 students have been working with Pip Rhodes and Ed Jackson in the Rose Theatre recently, to create a music video. The equipment they worked with was donated last year by Andi Watson, Rose Bruford College Honorary Fellow and lighting designer for the band Radiohead. Pip and Ed are Andi’s Associates and usually join him on the road with Radiohead. The equipment Andi donated was last used on a Radiohead gig in Reykjavik! The aim of the project was to familiarise the students with the donated equipment, which consists of a Catalyst media server system and broadcast-quality camera and monitor set-up. Pip and Ed invited a professional musician, Jake Fletcher, to join the week-long workshop. Jake’s fantastic talent as a performer and his superb songwriting skills proved an invaluable asset and focal point for the project. The finished music video will be shared via the college’s social media platforms. Ed and Pip have re-joined Andi Watson for the last leg of Radiohead’s tour, in the US.
