Last September, American Theatre Arts BA (Hons) students emerged from lockdown in the hope of collaborating with Design, Management and Technical Arts colleagues on the annual site-specific ‘House’ show. Denied a live audience due to covid restrictions, the company led by ATA Programme Director, Steven Dykes, decided instead to record two versions of the production and the final edits are due for completion at the end of April.

Shot entirely on campus within Lamorbey House, Visitation is a contemporary reworking of Daniel Defoe’s 18th Century novel, A Journal of the Plague Year, and follows a cast of characters reacting to a deadly pandemic and the total lockdown of London. A truly collaborative effort across several programmes, the production team includes Director of Photography, Amelia Hawkes (BA Lighting Design), and Editor, Nathan Mallalieu (BA Lighting Design). The films also feature an original score by Seisha Butler (BSc Audio Production).

Keep your eyes peeled for the final edit.
