Alexia Kokkali trained as an actor in Athens and worked professionally in Greece for the National Theatre- Experimental Stage among others, before completing an MA in Physical Theatre at Royal Holloway, University of London. She has collaborated extensively with the Centre of Theatre Practices Gardzienice and W. Staniewski and participated in a variety of their projects in UK, Poland and Greece. She is a co-founding Member of The Quick and The Dead, an international ensemble of performers.

The group, led by Alison Hodge, came together in 2005 with a shared desire to move beyond the text based forms of actor training and developed a practice based research project on actor training known as Core training. It is based on a deep awareness of the performer’s body through exploring its inter-relationship with the other performers, space and audience. Alexia has worked at Rose Bruford College since 2007.
