We proudly share that Bruford has been nominated in two of the 12 London Higher Award categories. London Higher received 159 submissions from 38 universities across 12 categories.
This is a testament to the Bruford team’s hard work and dedication. We are thrilled to have been recognised and look forward to the upcoming results.
London Higher represents universities and higher education colleges in the capital. It is the largest representative body of its kind in England, including small, specialist conservatoires and research institutes and large, multi-faculty universities.
A distinguished panel of judges made the final decisions on award submissions. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 6 June 2024.

Outstanding contribution to equality, diversity & inclusion in London
This award recognises an institution that significantly enhances equality, diversity, and inclusion on campus.
Bruford’s shortlisted project:
Angel VR is a highly acclaimed virtual reality experience created by AVA DANCE COMPANY and Rose Bruford College. The experience features a protagonist named Angel, a skilled warrior who navigates an extraordinary world alongside a single audience member.
This project is designed using adaptive principles, which makes it more accessible to disabled audiences. Angel VR has received support from Arts Council England and generous contributions from MBD Limited and Target3D. The experience is set to tour starting January 2024.

This award recognises a unique contribution to London’s vibrant creative arts scene.
Bruford’s shortlisted project:
The Queer Performance MA programme at Rose Bruford College connects higher education with London’s thriving arts scene in a transformative way. It offers interdisciplinary training, encourages collective dreaming, and shapes the future of the creative arts in London and beyond. This MA programme is a beacon of progressive and inclusive education, making a significant impact despite being a Small Specialist College.
