Since graduating in 2024 from BA in Costume Production, Katie Jackson has fully embraced the costume world, dressing on multiple West End shows including her current role as Dresser on Paddington the Musical.
She highlights her work on the college’s production of Seussical as a maker, assistant, and dresser, and her work on To Sir, With Love as a costume supervisor as impactful and educational moments during College life where she could collaborate with other students and professionals to showcase these performances.
During her final year at Rose Bruford College, Katie seized the opportunity to work as a dresser for Shrek the Musical at New Wimbledon Theatre. Following her graduation, she began working in the West End as a department dresser for Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, followed by work as principal dresser for Magic Mike Live.
“Gaining dressing experience on a number of shows at Rose Bruford College, all involving different skillsets, allowed me to work on a mix of professional productions with different costume demands.”

The connections she made helped her to grow:
“Tutors Natasha Dodsworth and Sarah Barnes frequently sent us job opportunities, offered recommendations, and passed us contacts. I was able to work on Shrek the Musical by connecting with the production team at our graduate show.”
Katie still keeps up with other graduates through an alumni group chat as well as her course leader, Natasha Dodsworth, where they share accomplishments and ask for advice.
