There was double success at the National Stage Managers Awards, held at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday 6 June 2018, with BA (Hons) Stage Management student Emily Walters and 2014 graduate Linnea Fridén Grønning both receiving awards.

Emily (pictured right) received the Highly Commended Award in the ‘Student’ category. She received her award following a nomination by BA (Hons) Stage Management Programme Director Mark Simpson for her ‘outstanding work’ on a number of projects both in college and in the industry, including production roles in the West End on Harry Potter and Cursed Child and The Ferryman

Ben Delfont, Stage Manager on The Ferryman said:

“Emily came in to help us out as Assistant Stage Management cover on The Ferryman when we moved into the West End.  She slotted in seamlessly to the team, with confidence and humour.  She learnt the plot in record time, and her attention to detail was fantastic.  She always came into work with the right attitude and was amiable and very capable.”

Now in its 30th year, the Stage Management Association’s National Stage Management Awards recognises outstanding achievements in stage and live events.

There was also success for 2014 graduate, Linnea Fridén Grønning (pictured left) who was part of the winning Theatr Clwyd team for The Assassination of Katie Hopkins.

Mark Simpson said of the success:

“Many congratulations to Emily and Linnea on their awards. The programme team are very proud of both recipients.”
