Keith Higinbotham studied BA American Theatre Arts, and graduated in 2015. We caught up with Keith and asked him to share his experiences of studying at Rose Bruford College and how his education has helped him to succeed in the industry.
What did you like most about studying at Rose Bruford College?
I loved that it was outside of London. The old building and its grounds were beautiful and provided a sense of calm throughout my training. I think it offered an opportunity to still the mind in order to refocus my studies.
How has your course helped you to get to where you are today?
American Theatre Arts and the brilliant faculty provided opportunities to diversify my skills beyond that of acting. We learned how to create work, how to direct, how to write, how to critically analyse, but most of all, it instilled a work ethic that has stayed with me to this day.
What has been the highlight of your career to date?
Being part of the directing team for the multi-award winning video game “Baldur’s Gate 3” and becoming a member of BAFTA Connect in recognition of my work in video games so far.
How have you stayed connected to Rose Bruford College since graduation?
I have been a guest lecturer in voice and accents for the Actor Musicianship course, and have stayed in contact with both the faculty and students from American Theatre Arts.
What would you say to a student who is thinking of applying for your course today?
Not only does ATA offer top tier training for acting, but it also teaches invaluable skills that will help build a career in arts, both behind and in front of the camera. Plus you get to live in America for a bit and that was the best 6 months of my life!
