Rose Bruford College is delighted to announce the appointment of Jennifer Sims to serve as the new Chair of the Board of Governors and the appointment of George Littlejohn as Vice Chair.
Jennifer and George were unanimously elected by the Board and will commence their duties on October 1, 2021.
On her appointment as Chair of Governors Jennifer said, “Rose Bruford College is an institution whose work I have admired over many years and it is a great honour have the opportunity to work with our very committed team of governors to oversee the next stage of the College’s development. It has been a great pleasure to be part of the Board under Monisha Shah’s Chairmanship and I look forward to taking forward her legacy.”
George says, “I am very much looking forward to working yet more closely with Clarie and Jennifer, grasping the opportunities and tackling the challenges facing the world of education in the 2020s, as the world “builds back better” from its current troubles. It’s a great honour and privilege to serve with Rose Bruford College – and better still, a tremendous treat, given the energy that shines out from this vibrant community.”
The College would like to thank Monisha Shah for her dedication to making positive change at the College in her post as Chair since March 2015. During her tenure, the College has secured the highest government endorsement of our teaching (TEF Gold), been granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers, and seen the introduction of many new and exciting programmes.
Clarie Middleton, Principal and CEO of Rose Bruford College, said, “It has been a pleasure and a privilege working with Monisha to move the College forward in line with our strategic plan. She will be missed by a great many of us at the College. I am looking forward to working closely with Jennifer and George from October to ensure we continue to deliver excellent education and training, and a transformative student experience.”
The College is fortunate to have a highly accomplished governing body with a wide array of skills and experience across sector and industry. Each Board member is closely aligned with the values and ethos of the College, and works in the best interests of our students, staff and other stakeholders in a thoughtful and collaborative way.
