Rose Bruford College student Caitlin O’Reilly received national industry recognition when she was Highly Commended for her work in the Student Achievement category at the National Awards for Stage Management.
Caitlin O'Reilly, BA (Hons) Stage Management student, 26, from Lewisham, received the award at a ceremony during the recent Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT) show in East London.
Caitlin developed skills in; lighting, sound, set construction and prop-making and applied them by working on the college’s theatre productions as well as internal and external events and exhibitions.
Senior Lecturer Mark Simpson, who nominated Caitlin, said:
“Caitlin has been praised by visiting professionals not only for her skills but for the sheer force of her vibrant personality.”
Nick Hunt, Head of School Design, Management and Technical Arts said:
“This is the third year we have had success with this award. It is a fantastic testament to the quality of our Stage Management programme, staff and above all Caitlin.”
The college was also awarded with the ABTT Theatre Show ‘Stand of the Year Award’.
