You are invited to Earnest, the Importance of Being , a development of a contemporary, queer adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. Three actors and a puppet explore scenes from the original text, through a contemporary lens inspired by the television sitcom.

Developed and directed by Hannah Lund, as part of the final year of MFA Contemporary Directing Practice, at Rose Bruford College.

Earnest, the Importance of Being will be performed on Thursday the 17th of September 2026 at 7pm at the Rose Theatre, Rose Bruford College.
Run time is approximately 60 minutes, with a 20-minute Q&A session after the performance.
