Dr. Ben Buratta joins Rose Bruford College as Head of Acting and Performance following a comprehensive search and recruitment process.

Ben joins Rose Bruford College from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where they were Programme Leader for BA Acting (Collaborative and Devised Theatre) and Senior Lecturer in Acting and Theatre Making. Committed to innovative and inclusive training methods that centre the actor/performer as an artist, they regularly consult on and develop change-making policies across the performing arts industries, particularly in relation to inclusive casting practices.
Their research is rooted in professional practice and explores new modes of theatre-making, dramaturgical frameworks, audience engagement strategies, and the deeper representation of queer narratives and performers. A theatre maker, director, dramaturg, and researcher, they have created work in theatres including The Bush, Birmingham Rep, Southbank Centre, Contact, and The Royal Court, as well as in nightclubs, warehouses, and public spaces. As the founder and Artistic Director of Outbox, they collaborate with LGBTQIA+ performers and communities to create bold, critically acclaimed work, including GROOVE and And The Rest of Me Floats.
