Rose Bruford College has been ranked third for student satisfaction across all 14 specialist performing arts institutions in the Complete University Guide Performing Arts Table 2027. The College also climbed two places in the overall table, recording improvements across four out of five measured indicators.

The result follow success at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2026, announced last month, which ranked Rose Bruford College second in London and fifth nationally for Lecturers and Teaching Quality, the only specialist performing arts conservatoire recognised in the category. These two independent measures of student experience, one based on National Student Survey data and one on voluntary student reviews, have now placed the College among the highest-rated in the country within a fortnight of each other.

The Complete University Guide Performing Arts Table 2027 put student satisfaction at Rose Bruford College at 80%, up from 76%,  a four percentage point increase. Entry standards also strengthened, from 72% to 75%, placing Rose Bruford College in the top five of all specialist institutions in the table. Graduate prospects saw the most significant gain, improving from 55% to 62%.

The overall score increased from 59% to 67%, the strongest single-year improvement in the College’s recent CUG history.

The Performing Arts Table was expanded in 2026 to include 14 institutions, up from nine in the previous cycle. Rose Bruford College’s climb in a larger and more competitive field reflects sustained focus on the quality of teaching and the student experience.

Professor Randall Whittaker, Principal and CEO of Rose Bruford College, said:

“These results reflect the quality of teaching and the strength of the student experience at Rose Bruford College. To be ranked 3rd for student satisfaction across all specialist performing arts institutions in the UK is a significant achievement, and to see this confirmed alongside our recent Whatuni recognition for teaching quality makes it clear that what our staff deliver in the studio, the workshop and the rehearsal room is among the best in the country. We’re proud of this progress, and there is more to come.”

The Complete University Guide Performing Arts Table draws on National Student Survey results, UCAS entry tariff data, research quality scores, and graduate outcomes data published by HESA.
