Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance in Sidcup has been ranked as the safest institution in the university sector in London following the publication of ‘The Complete University Guide’s 2016 Crime Tables’.
Calculated using the annual number of reported incidents (per 1,000 residents) around students' term-time addresses, the crime tables provide safety-conscious students with an invaluable source of information when making their university choices.
The crime score collates the reported incidence of burglaries, robberies and violent and sexual offences. The College was also ranked in the top 10 safest institutions in the university sector in England and Wales.
The report says;
“If you're a budding student of the performing arts, you're in luck. With the lowest crime score of any university in London, and alumni such as Tom Baker and Gary Oldman, this is bound to be a popular choice with students of this discipline.”
The College is located in beautiful parkland campus in Sidcup and recently opened student accommodation a short walk from the campus. In an internal survey carried out in early 2016, 100% of first-year students said they felt safe on campus.
Principal Michael Earley is delighted that the College’s community-focused approach to safety has been acknowledged;
‘We are pleased that Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, Sidcup and Bexley are among the safest university destinations in England and Wales for higher education students. We work very hard with local partners, the police and through our Students’ Union to maintain the highest safety standards we can.’
