While stage management is often associated with work behind the scenes, the skills it develops translate far beyond the stage.
Our graduates are shaping experiences across theatre, live events, film, and emerging technologies, driving work that reaches audiences in powerful and varied ways.

From Stage to Creative Technology
Anton Renouf (2022) moved from stage management into creative technology after an internship in game design sparked his interest in the field.
This led him to pursue a Master’s degree in Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during which he led and contributed to a range of innovative projects at the intersection of art and technology. His work focused on developing applications using cutting-edge wearable technology, as well as exploring the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) and brain–computer interfaces, and he created immersive experiences designed to help users better understand stress triggers, using interactive visualisations of brain activity.
He also completed an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where he developed a gamified mobile AR treatment prototype for patients with chronic lung conditions. Anton is currently based in London, working at Pearson as an Innovation Engineer, where he explores and builds new approaches to learning using emerging technologies.
Careers in Live Events
Many of our students go on to work in live events, and Chloë Brown (2011) first worked in TV as a Line Producer for a Film4 period drama before joining Premier, one of London’s leading arts PR and red-carpet event agencies, first working in their Experiential team before moving on to produce high calibre live events including awards ceremonies, festivals, red carpets, product launches and more. She is now an Associate Director, working to establish the company’s presence in the North of England.
Colleague and alum Zoe Dhillon (2018) has also built a career in high-profile events as a Senior Producer at Premier. Her work has given her the experience of working on major cultural and media moments, from The Booker Prize to global premieres and press tours, including the recent launch of Paramount+’s MobLand. And recent alum Georgia Parkhill (2023) has also joined the team, working first as a Production Assistant before becoming an Event Producer. In her short time with the company, she has produced tentpole events including the BASE Awards and the UK Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival. Their careers highlight the role of stage management training in producing large-scale public events.
Working in Theatre
In theatre, Faisa Ibrahim-Jones (2018) is currently Stage Manager on Cynthia Erivo’s one-woman Dracula at the Noël Coward Theatre, contributing to a major West End production. She was previously Assistant Stage Manager on Richard III at Shakespeare’s Globe, and worked on Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre, as well as its international tour and Australian production, and Six The Musical at the Vaudeville Theatre.
Our alumni can be found working behind the scenes on almost every major West End production in London, as well as nationally and internationally. If you choose to work in theatre, you’ll join a close-knit community of Rose Bruford alumni.
