2020 Summer Schools and Masterclasses

Our 2020 summer programme of short courses and professional masterclasses provide an intensive summer of learning whatever your level of experience.

This year we are delighted to welcome the internationally renowned Gennady Bogdanov to our Summer Masterclass faculty. 

All courses are taught in the specialist facilities of our green campus with accommodation packages available at our Christopher Court Hall of Residence

Michael Chekhov Summer Masterclass

Michael Chekhov: Character & Period Style with Janice Orlandi and Lisa Dalton
Explore Michael Chekhov's psycho-physical approach to acting and Characterization with Period Style, through the physical practice of the core principles and exercises.

Summer School Courses 


Acting Summer School

Led by Tony James, This intensive, two-week introductory course develops your craft with classes in acting technique, voice and movement as well as concentrating on audition skills, musical theatre and devising within an ensemble.

Actor Musicianship Summer School

Led by Jeremy Harrison, this week-long intensive course is a chance to work with international experts in this area of theatre practice and experience the training developed on our innovative Actor Musicianship BA and MA courses.

Lighting Design Summer School


Led by Ben Ratcliffe, this course provides students with an introduction to the design of lighting for stage, events and architecture.

Stage Management Summer School

Led by Mark Shayle, you will cover all the basic information progressing through to professional level skills to giving you the knowledge to confidentially undertake the role of Stage Manager or Show Caller.

Terms and Conditions

  • The College reserves the right to amend, withdraw or cancel any course. If the College cancels a course you have booked onto your fee will be fully refunded;
     
  • All courses are subject to a minimum number of students and will not be guaranteed until this number is reached;
     
  • The College reserves the right to refuse admission on to any of our programmes;
     
  • It is strongly recommended that all students insure themselves to cover the loss of fees or travel costs in the event of cancellation, illness or travel problems, for which the College cannot accept any liability;
     
  • Fees are non-returnable once a student has started the course;
     
  • All fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the course;
     
  • Full fees will be refunded for cancellations within two weeks of booking;
     
  • In the event of a cancellation after two weeks from the booking date, a sum of £100 will be retained to cover administration costs;
     
  • The College does not offer deferments for courses not attended.
