General Questions
What happens after my audition or interview?
Following your audition or interview, the course team will review your application alongside your performance, interview discussion and any supporting material you’ve provided. The Admissions team will contact you with the next steps once decisions have been made.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to participate confidently in the activities planned for the day. For performance course auditions, this should allow you to move freely in workshops and practical sessions.
What if I’m nervous?
Most applicants are. Our staff work hard to create welcoming and supportive environments where applicants can do their best work. Remember that we’re interested in getting to know you and understanding your potential, not catching you out.
Can I request adjustments or support?
Yes. If you require adjustments or additional support during the admissions process, please let us know as early as possible so we can discuss your requirements and make appropriate arrangements wherever possible.
How will I know what to prepare?
Any preparation requirements will be included in the information we send you after you’ve applied and before your audition or interview takes place.
Can international applicants audition or interview remotely?
Remote options are available for some courses and circumstances. Please check the guidance for your chosen course or contact Admissions if you are unsure.
Will attending online affect my chances?
Applicants are assessed using the same criteria regardless of whether they attend in person or online.
Performance Course Questions
Why do you use workshops as part of the audition process?
Workshops help us understand how applicants engage with new ideas, respond to direction, work with others and participate in practical training.
What is a redirect?
A redirect is when a member of the panel asks you to revisit your speech using a different objective, circumstance or creative approach. We’re interested in how applicants respond to new ideas and feedback.
Why are there multiple audition rounds for some courses?
Each stage allows us to see applicants in different contexts and provides several opportunities to demonstrate their strengths.
Do I need previous acting training?
No. We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of experience.
Are auditions competitive?
Places are limited and auditions are competitive. We encourage applicants to focus on preparation, engagement and making the most of the opportunity rather than comparing themselves to others.
Production Arts Questions
I don’t have much portfolio work. Should I still apply?
Yes. We’re interested in your ideas, interests, creativity and potential, not the size of your portfolio.
Does my portfolio need to be professionally presented?
No. There is no single correct format for a portfolio.
Can I include work from school or college?
Absolutely. School and college projects can provide valuable insight into your interests and creative development.
Can I include unfinished work?
Yes. Sketches, experiments, research and development work can often be just as useful as finished outcomes.
What if I don’t know exactly what career I want yet?
That’s completely fine. Many applicants are still exploring different pathways within the industry.

Can I observe the audition, interview or workshop?
