Summary

Aphrodite Evangelatou studied acting at Drama Centre London and holds a PhD in Actor Training from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She has also trained as an actor at the Vakhtangov Institute (Moscow, Russia) and Delos Drama School (Athens, Greece).

Aphrodite’s teaching practice focuses on acting and devising, while her teaching methodology draws inspiration from a wide range of practitioners, including Konstantin Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, Sanford Meisner, Tadashi Suzuki, and Jerzy Grotowski.

Her research focuses on actor training, and she has presented her work at various conferences including the TaPRA Annual Conference and the International Conference The Makings of the Actor. Through her practice-based PhD research, Aphrodite developed a psychophysical approach to help actors access emotion safely and with ease.
