Miles has had a 25-year career as a policy adviser and researcher on housing, land use planning, property tax, infrastructure, and local government, and spent more than a decade as a senior civil servant working within HM Treasury, the Cabinet Office, and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
Miles was previously Head of UK Research and an Executive Director at CBRE. He is a qualified town planner, and holds degrees in architecture and land economy.
Miles is the author of British Development Taxes Since 1945, published by the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge in 2025.
He is a Director of Waste Not Theatre Ltd.
