Programme
The Imposter, Madeline Elliot
The Imposter follows the life and trials of a Changeling left in the place of a stolen child. It is a surrealist expression of my own neuroqueer experience inspired by Irish folklore, my love for body horror and a desire to find catharsis at the end of the road.
SPIRAL, Pia Kara Somersby
Re writing history (2014) a young girl finds herself awakened by the noise of what seems to be “Glastonbury” reluctantly she gets into the mix of things before taking us all on a unique journey. this story explores topics with magic, wildness, afterlife, transformations, travelling culture, family dynamics, rituals, of course music and plenty more.
N*pe, thats en*ugh, what a n*sy kn*b you are, Freya McAteer
This show explores a clownified version of Freya’s own inability to say no to people, never straying from her people pleasing ways. It follows the story of the little clown who must agree to everything all the time. How will the clown ever learn to say no!?
That Bitch, Shakira Lee
That Bitch is a fierce, unapologetic exploration of feminism flipped on its head. Reclaiming the word “bitch” from the mouths of men who weaponise it, this show asks: what’s actually wrong with being one? Bold, provocative and darkly playful, it celebrates audacity, anger, softness and power — on our own terms.
Death of a Lyrebird (A deposition)*, Izzy Cryer
There’s no funny business when it comes to assault…right? Izzy disagrees, and she means business. She wasn’t allowed to wear (the) trousers so she’s leaving them behind, stealing the microphone, putting her wit on record with her ass to the wind before sincerely asking, “Why can’t you just believe us?”
*content warnings: explicit description of sexual assault, consistent discussion of rape, discussion of nudity, misogyny, themes of sexual assault and sexual violence against women
VAMP, Imo Vamp
Imo Vamp welcomes you to her movie macabre to teach you about the story of Carmilla! When things take a vampiric turn, it becomes a night of queer femininity and sexual liberation. Explored through a world of Burlesque, singing, aerial and spoken word, it will truly be a show to remember.
