Rory Hammond was one of the first graduates of the Linklater Teaching Practice MFA degree, during which she studied the Linklater Voice method and received Designated Linklater Teacher status.

Rory is now a Professor at the University of Hartford in Connecticut and is on the faculty of Shakespeare & Company, the Massachusetts-based theatre company that was founded by Kristin Linklater herself. She has been on this faculty since 2015 and spent the last few years directing and teaching Shakespeare to children and young people aged 7-18 as well as performing as an actor each season.

She has recently been hired to direct Macbeth at the University of Hartford and is looking forward to working with her students on this project.

“My favourite thing about studying at Rose Bruford was the faculty – my teachers gave me so much. Not only were they wonderful teachers, but they helped me with so many things related to being a foreign student. I could not have done it without their support, and I think of them every day when I’m teaching!”

Rory is a founding member of Animus Theatre Company, known for its annual 12-Hour Reading Festivals, and works closely with Circle in the Square Theatre & School, of which she is also a graduate

“Graduating from Rose Bruford is directly related to the career I have today. I was ale to learn all of the material I needed to teach voice and practice teaching, which was invaluable. I wouldn’t have been hired to teach at a University without my MFA, and I wouldn’t be able to the teach the Linklater Method without my Designation.”
