BA (Hons) Acting graduate Hayley Squires has been named most promising newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards.
Hayley picked up the award for her role as Katie in the critically acclaimed Ken Loach film I, Daniel Blake.
Speaking after the award Hayley said;
“I really didn’t expect this having seen the performances of the other nominees. It’s a lovely recognition and hopefully means I did my job well for the women I was portraying. I’d like to thank my family and co-stars for their support.”
Hayley’s co-star Dave Johns won the award for Best Actor.
