Rose Bruford College graduate Jessica Gunning has been honoured with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for her powerful portrayal of Martha Scott in Baby Reindeer. Jessica graduated from Acting BA (Hons) in 2007.
The only televised awards ceremony to exclusively honor actors, the SAG Awards presents 13 awards in TV and film. Voted on by SAG-AFTRA’s membership of 130,000+ performers. The SAG Awards has the largest voting body on the awards circuit.
This latest accolade, presented on February 23, 2025, in Los Angeles, adds to her impressive collection of awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe for the same role. This series is based on the true story of Richard Gadd’s relationship with his real-life stalker, “Martha”. Baby Reindeer sat at number one on Netflix globally for a number of weeks after release, receiving 60 million views in just a month.
Jessica’s film and television credits include What Remains, The Outlaws, Fortitude, The Scandalous Lady W, The State, and Pride—the latter of which received both BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations. She began her stage career at the National Theatre in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and MAJOR BARBARA.
Recently, Jessica returned to Rose Bruford College to share advice with aspiring students. Encouraging those considering an application, she said:
“I would say go for it. I had the best time ever here at Rose Bruford. I met lifelong friends, who—even 17 years later—are still my best mates. I learned so many amazing life skills… Apply and good luck!”
