An adaptation of Franz Kafka’a The Trial, directed by BA (Hons) Theatre Studies student Craig Sanders, has won two awards at the Manchester Fringe Festival.

The production, which received the award for Best Adaptation and Best New Company, is now heading up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as part of the Rose Bruford College residency at Upper Church, Summerhall.

The production received a great response from sold out audiences and critics alike, with The Manchester Theatre Awards defining it as one which “confounds expectations” as “director Craig Sanders avoids the obvious” finally declaring “no one should miss this play!”

Sanders, who is Resident Director at Buxton Opera House and Manchester ADP, said:

“I’m absolutely over the moon! The show went down so well in Manchester and we are looking forward to taking it to Edinburgh, especially as it is part of the wonderful Rose Bruford College residency.”
