Gareth Clough (BA Lighting Design) has spent the Summer on placement with Woodroffe Basset  Design (WBD) at London’s O2 Arena, shadowing lighting designer Patrick Woodroffe throughout the process of lighting Monty Python Live (mostly)!

Gareth was interviewed for the role by Terry Cook, Design Associate at WBD, and once selected was given unique access to all aspects of lighting such a large and complex event. As well as shadowing Patrick, who is a Honorary Fellow of the college, Gareth called the follow spots on all the shows, and the placement allowed him to develop a very broad and sophisticated understanding of lighting at the highest level.

Woodroffe Basset Design and the Lighting Design programme at Rose Bruford collaborate closely to offer students the best possible access and experiences within the lighting industries and events sectors in the UK.
