Lighting students from Rose Bruford College recently received donation of an ETC Eos lighting console from Daniel Murfin, Lighting Control Manager at the National Theatre.

Dan is a BA (Hons) Lighting Design graduate and regularly returns to the College to teach students on both the BA (Hons) Lighting Design and BA (Hons) Creative Lighting Control programmes.

The kind donation is another example of the College's wide reaching industry connections and the great emphasis it places on nurturing and developing relationships with key industry partners and stakeholders including the National Theatre.

Lighting Design students regularly visit the National Theatre for talks and placements, whilst world renowned Lighting Designer and Rose Bruford College Honorary Fellow Paule Constable, an Associate of the National Theatre, regularly teaches on the programme.

Hansjorg Schmidt, Lighting Design Programme Director said:

“The console has been a fantastic asset to the College's lighting provision, offering students enhanced opportunities to train on, and work with, world leading technologies. The College has already invested in a range of ETC Ion consoles, and the addition of this larger Eos platform for use in the Rose Theatre and for enhanced training is a great addition to the College's wide range of lighting equipment.

I am thrilled that the Lighting Design programme's relationship with the National Theatre continues to thrive and develop on so many levels, and the students continue to benefit strongly from this rich partnership.”
