Students and staff from the BA (Hons) Lighting Design programme at Rose Bruford College were invited recently to tour the Robe factories in the Czech Republic.
Robe are a world leading manufacturer of lighting equipment and are actively collaborating with the lighting design programme at Rose Bruford College to support the learning of young lighting professionals through a higher education pathway.
Students are working regularly with Robe equipment made available through loans. They also receive training and have opportunities to connect with other industry professionals through work placements.
Hansjorg Schmidt, Lighting Design Programme Director said:
“Robe are incredibly supportive of our student’s learning. Close collaborations with industry partners such as Robe are a key aspect of the programme here, and I am particularly grateful to Ashley Lewis at Robe UK for his ongoing support of our work.
The factory visit was a fantastic opportunity for the students to learn more about the lighting industries and how new technologies are being developed and manufactured so they can meet the ever growing demand of the next generation of lighting designers.”
