Welcome Week takes place on-campus in Sidcup and is where you’ll meet your classmates, current students, and the staff who are here to teach and support you while you study with us. There are lots of activities and workshops taking place throughout the week covering topics such as budgeting, campus tours and programme-specific activity. When to arrive,

• Foundation Acting: Monday 14th September
• Undergraduate programmes: Monday 21st September, arrive on-campus for a 10am start
• Postgraduate programmes: Monday 28th September, arrive on-campus for a 10am start
• PhD programme: Monday 28th September, arrive on-campus for a 10am start

You will receive several emails with key information – your Rose Bruford College email address, the associated password, and a link to the registration portal. Before you arrive please complete the registration form at the portal. If you have any questions about this please contact [email protected].

British, UK or Irish Citizens 

We will require one of the following: 

• A valid, in date British or Irish passport; or 

• An Irish passport card. 

If you were born in the UK or Ireland and are a British or Irish national but do not have a valid, in date British or Irish passport, we will require two documents from the following list: 

• Birth or adoption certificate issued in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Ireland, including the name(s) of your parent(s) 

• Current UK driving licence 

• Student Loans Company tuition fee loan confirmation (electronic or good-quality paper copy accepted) 

• Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate* 

• Benefits paperwork issued by HMRC, Jobcentre Plus or a UK local authority* 

* Documents must be dated within the last 3 months. 

If you are a British or Irish national but were not born in the UK or Ireland, you must provide your British or Irish passport. No alternative documents can be accepted. 

International Students – Student Visa 

If you are studying at Rose Bruford College on a Student visa, you will need to provide the following information to [email protected] before you have arrived in the UK. 

Share code for your Student visa 

You must provide the College with a share code for study so that we can verify your immigration status and complete your Right to Study check. You should provide this as soon as you receive your visa outcome. 

When generating your share code: 

• Select “something else” when asked what you are using the share code for. Do not select work or rent. 

• Your share code should begin with the letter ‘S’, indicating that it is a share code for study. 

• You will also need to provide your date of birth. 

The College will use the share code and your date of birth to check your immigration status through the UK Government’s online View and Prove service. 

The College will retain an electronic record of the immigration status check in accordance with its Student Sponsor and Right to Study requirements. 

Evidence of your arrival in the UK 

You must provide evidence confirming the date you plan to enter the UK. 

This could include: 

• an electronic or paper boarding pass; 

• an e-ticket or flight ticket; or 

• other suitable evidence confirming your date of arrival. 

You may not receive an immigration stamp in your passport on arrival in the UK, particularly if you entered the UK through an eGate.  

Where there is no entry stamp, the College will establish and record your date of entry using other appropriate evidence, as listed above. 

Your passport 

You must bring your current passport with you when you attend in-person registration. 

Your passport should be the passport that is linked to your UKVI account and eVisa. 

If you have been issued with a new passport since applying for your Student visa, you should ensure that your UKVI account has been updated with the details of your new passport before travelling to the UK. 

Original documents used for admission 

You must bring the original documents requested by the College and used to apply for your student visa, to in-person registration. 

Depending on your course and circumstances, these may include: 

• Your current passport 

• Original qualification certificates or other qualification documents 

• Original English language qualification, such as IELTS, where applicable 

• Financial evidence, where applicable 

• Any other original documents specifically requested by the College 

Please ensure that you bring these documents with you when you attend in-person registration. It is also advised that you travel with these documents, should any evidence be requested by border control.  

Your eVisa and immigration status 

The UK has moved to a digital immigration system. Successful Student visa applications now result in an eVisa rather than a physical Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or visa vignette. 

This applies whether you: 

• used the UK Immigration: ID Check app to prove your identity; or 

• attended a Visa Application Centre (VAC) to provide your biometric information. 

You should not expect to receive a BRP card or a new visa vignette in your passport. 

Before travelling to the UK, you should: 

1. Create and access your UKVI account. 
2. Check that you can view your eVisa. 
3. Check that your personal details, passport details and immigration permission are correct. 
4. Ensure that your current passport is linked to your UKVI account. 

If you have any problems accessing your eVisa, updating your passport details or generating a share code, you should contact UKVI for assistance.

We offer new international undergraduates guaranteed accommodation (dependent on application numbers). Confirm your place and apply by 21 June 2026 to secure a room at Christopher Court Halls of Residence for your first year. For further information, visit our International students page.

The Student Life team are here to offer you general support, advice and guidance. They can help with study support, support for international students and disabled students, and offer counselling. Student-Life

If you identify as having a disability or being disabled we are here to support you. The Disability Team is here to support you to access, participate and thrive on you course to the best of your ability.

Support available:

• Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) – you can apply through your Student Finance England portal where it will ask you a few questions about your course, disability and needs.
• Individual Learning Plans (ILP) – this outlines reasonable adjustments for your course. If you previously had an EHCP at school, an ILP can help provide similar support.
• Your GP – if you need medical support while studying with us it may be useful to change your GP to one based more locally. It can take time to change over so make sure you have enough medication to last that switch period.

If you require support please complete the following:

• Check if you are eligible for Disabled Students’ Allowance and complete your application form if so.
• The College online registration. You should have received two emails with login details.
• Register with the College Disability Team. The form is available 24 hours after you have completed online registration.
• Explore the disability pages on the College Student Hub to understand what else the Student Life team can support.

We believe that talented students from a variety of backgrounds should have the opportunity to study at Rose Bruford College and our teams are on hand to support you. Full-time UK students can apply for a loan to cover their tuition fees, and a maintenance loan for living expenses. The maintenance loan is means tested and will depend on personal circumstances Information about how much you can borrow, how to apply for loans and a student finance calculator are available on the government’s student finance website. 

If you are an international student, you will not be able to access UK government student loans. Please check the individual course page to find the correct fees for your course.

Fees & Funding

If you’re an international student, you’ll need to ensure that you have checked any relevant Visa requirements. The process and conditions for attaining a student visa are subject to frequent changes. Please check the UK Government website for the most up to date and accurate information and use the information presented here as a guide.

This should provide you with all the information you need, but if you have any questions or would like to discuss the process, our Admissions team is on hand to help.
• Pre-Departure Checklist: We will send you a checklist that will help you to gather all necessary documents, such as passport, visa, and health insurance.

If you require a student visa to study in the UK, you must provide evidence of your English language ability as part of the visa process. If your first language is not English, you must demonstrate your English ability. This is an essential part of your visa application.

IELTS for UKVI and the IELTS Academic for UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) are the UKVI-approved versions of the secure English Language Test (SELT). This test must be taken in an approved test centre, and you must state that you need an Academic for UKVI-approved visa test when you book. For undergraduate courses, you must achieve a minimum score of IELTS 5.5 overall, with at least 5.5 in each component, or a Secure English Language Test (SELT) equivalent to this score.
