Rose Bruford College is an exciting and vibrant place to study and students from all programmes work closely together, replicating the processes of a professional theatre company to make ensembles and to produce fully mounted productions. Good staff/student ratios and small class sizes (plus frequent one-on-one tutorials) mean that students get to know their tutors and peers and benefit from regular support and guidance in academic and personal matters.
Student engagement and representation is central to the ethos of the college and the delivery of programmes and activities that meet student needs and expectations. We have student representation on Programme Committees and Boards as well as Cross College Boards.
We regularly run student satisfaction surveys and our National Student Survey satisfaction rating is consistently among the highest in the sector. The College emphasises student satisfaction and student support, which has led to the creation of more student social space and attentiveness to student learning needs.
The College’s active Students’ Union organises regular social events throughout the year and there are a number of clubs and societies, which meet regularly and organise further events and activities. Visit the Students' Union page for full details.
As well as attending our own productions on campus, students are encouraged to regularly attend shows and performances in London’s West End and at fringe venues throughout the city. London also provides students with a wide range of research libraries, collections and resources to support their academic work. There are also plenty of local theatres, galleries and open spaces for you to enjoy in the surrounding area.
Central London and the West End are just a half an hour train journey from Sidcup. There are excellent bus links as well to nearby Greenwich, Bromley, Bexleyheath, Eltham and Bluewater Shopping Centre. Gatwick, Heathrow and London City Airports are all easily accessible from Sidcup.
Sports and Leisure
Sidcup Leisure Centre is a 2 minute walk away from the campus and offers discounts to our students. It has a swimming pool, gym and fitness studios. Sidcup and the surrounding area also has plenty of local sports clubs, scenic walks and cycle paths.
Eating and Drinking
On campus our Rose Café and Bru Bar provide hot and cold food options throughout the day. At night the Bru Bar becomes a licensed bar and social hub for students. There are also a wide range of restaurants and bars to choose from in Sidcup.
