This course is designed for students aged 19 and over currently without the qualifications needed to enter Higher Education.

It offers you the opportunity to explore technical and production arts such as: set design, costume production, set construction, lighting, sound and stage management, through practical hands on training, as well as understanding how the theatre and live entertainment industry works. You will also develop the key skills you need to study at Higher Education level, such as on the College’s BA Hons degrees.

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to apply for a place on one of our School of Design, Management and Technical Arts degree programmes. Completing the Access to Higher Education course will also enable you to pursue a degree programme at other Higher Education Institutions.

You may be eligible to apply for funding through the Advanced Learner Loan
