Ben Ratcliffe has worked in theatre and performing arts in Europe and the U.K. for over 30 years and taught performance, youth theatre and lighting design for 25 years. He started working on local arts festivals then designed for events, festivals and site specific projects. He has toured as technical manager and designed in cathedrals, trains and bars. His design work includes cabaret and circus with Tricity Vogue and Mis Behave and large-scale immersive events for Sublime Boudoir. His teaching career has included teacher training at the Institute of Education, further education and in higher education institutions across the South East of England. His exploration of the relationship between the live performer and the audience and research into visual perceptions informs his work as a Lecturer of Lighting Design at Rose Bruford College.
